Ignite Builders is a proudly family-owned and operated construction company servicing Wellington and Wairarapa. Founded in 2024 by father and sons - Neil, Owen, and Tommi Lloyd - we bring together over 60 years of combined experience in the building industry.

Neil Lloyd is a seasoned builder known for his hands-on expertise, while Owen and Tommi bring fresh leadership, strong work ethic, and a deep love for the craft. Together, we combine extensive industry knowledge with new energy, ensuring every project is delivered with care, precision, and pride.

As Licensed Building Practitioners (LBP) and BCITO-certified builders and employers, we are committed to delivering excellent quality on every project. Our passion for construction stems from our family values, which guide our dedication to integrity, clear communication, and exceptional workmanship.

We specialise in bespoke renovations, comprehensive new builds, and custom joinery - including stunning, functional kitchens and bathrooms tailored to each client’s lifestyle. Every site we manage is kept clean, safe, and well-organised, and we take pride in treating every home as if it were our own.

  • With decades of experience in the New Zealand building industry, Neil is a cornerstone of the team, bringing steady hands, proven expertise, and a wealth of practical know-how. His career has been built on a foundation of quality workmanship and a deep understanding of the craft, gained from a lifetime on the tools. Neil plays a vital role in guiding and supporting the crew, sharing his insights, refining their skills, and ensuring every job is completed to the highest standard.

  • Owen leads the build team with a meticulous eye for detail and a strong belief in doing things right the first time. With his dual role as Lead Builder and Site Manager, he oversees every aspect of the day-to-day operations, ensuring the workflow is efficient, the team is supported, and the quality is never compromised. His leadership keeps projects running seamlessly from start to finish, with results that consistently meet and often exceed expectations.

  • Tommi is the first point of contact for clients and remains by their side right through to the final handover. He’s passionate about making the building process as stress-free, transparent, and enjoyable as possible, guiding clients every step of the way. With a natural talent for clear communication and a commitment to delivering on promises, Tommi ensures each project not only meets expectations but also reflects the high standards Ignite is known for. His focus on building trust and understanding lays the groundwork for a smooth, successful build from start to finish.
